BARBARA BURZILLO

Barbara left New York City for New Mexico after falling in love with the Southwest. Armed with more available time and a list of "used to's" and "want to's," she began exploring many creative interests, rediscovering her artistic abilities. Barbara enjoyed a career in advertising before becoming a full-time artist.
Creating for as long as she could remember, Barbara is a self-taught artist who works primarily in abstract, figurative bronze sculpture and painting. She revels in dramatic gestures and bright palettes. Her work frequently includes elongated, faceless, fantastical figures. Her sculptures and images convey a dynamic sense of movement. She relies on the medium as an active participant in determining the subject of her art. Barbara says: " I create art because it is a wonderful way to communicate at the deepest level with those around me. Ultimately, all that matters is that my art speaks to your soul."
